Lord Mayor of Bristol replaced a portrait of Lord Nugent with a painting of Henrietta Lacks

The Lord Mayor of Bristol - Cleo Lake, replaced a portrait of Lord Nugent (who helped setup the Transatlantic Slave Trade) painted by Gainsborough with a painting of Henrietta Lacks by Helen Wilson-Roe and owned by the Lacks family. The painting was hung in the Lord Mayors office in Bristol’s City Hall.
